Mermaid Gloves "Fin"-ished

Hahahahahaha...get it? "Fin"-ished? Fin? Oh, now that's comedy.

Ok, let's start with the stats:
Pattern: Pomatomus with a twist
Source: Inspired by Steph at Craftoholic
Yarn: Sundara Sock Yarn in Cherry Blossom
Made for: Moi
Needle Size: US 2 dpns
Date Started: April 23, 2007
Date Completed: August 12, 2007

I can't tell you how excited I am that these are done. While knitting the second glove, the pattern started to overwhelm me and I was just dragging. But eventually I snapped out of it and pushed myself to finish. All the fab Fall knits in my queue might of had something to do with my motivation.

I really do love these mitts. I especially adore how the left mitt is a mirror image of the right one. If you decide to knit these, simply substitute k2tog for k2tog tbl when flipping the chart. It took me a while to figure out that one.

I also really love the Cherry Blossom sock yarn from Sundara. This yarn has been a favorite of mine since I got it a couple of years ago and I've been saving it for just the right project. I think the Mermaid Gloves were a perfect choice.

Here are some more pics from my watery photoshoot (It consisted of me crouched in my parents' jetted tub fully clothed, while my brother stood above me taking pictures of my hands. What we wont do for our blogs, eh?):

Hey, I'm new to your site. I've been lurking for a while, and I highly approve of your project choices, and (I think it goes without saying) your Mermaid gloves. They are so fun! I also have the Dollar and a Half cardi in my queue (yarn shipped from Webs today!) so maybe we'll have to commiserate sometime....

So pretty! They are not something I would knit for myself, but they are still beautiful.

I didn't even notice your hands weve over water until you pointed it out!
