Little Hatchlings

A new knit was born this week. It is a sweater that's a little scary for me to knit, but too fabulous not to. It's Little Birds by Ysolda Teague. Yeah, I love that Ysolda. She so gets me.

But of course, I can't do things the easy way and just follow the pattern. No, I just have to knit it just like my big sis. Marcia! Marcia! Marcia!

As a scoop-necked pullover, it's a complete departure from the pattern. And the best part, Erin just winged it and didn't write down how or why she did certain things. I know, she is a total stinker. A genius, but a stinker.

And if those alterations weren't enough, I decided to change up the colors a bit. I am doing a dark raspberry background with light birds. I think I dig it.

Hello, Little Chickadees!

So wish me luck. I can tell this is going to be a knitting adventure.

Good Luck! And keep notes, because as soon as I saw Erin's I wanted one, and I'm sure when I see yours I'm going to want one even more.

Great colors! Such an individual take, I love it!

A little the same, a little different, both doing it her own way... sounds a lot like sisters to me!

Oooh, I like your colors! So, when you get the magic sweater modifications down, are you going to write down YOUR formula?? Because I'm sure there's lots who would like to know how it's done! Not that I'm ever going to attempt that sort of colorwork. Nope, not me.

I love that raspberry color and your modifications sound nice.

I'm tempted to add this to the list of things to be knit - the list that will take 3 lifetimes to complete!
