After sitting empty for so long, my sunroom is finally a real, bonofide, 100% gen-u-ine room. With furniture and everything!
When looking at the place as a potential buyer (who am I kidding, I knew I was going to buy it as soon as I walked through the door, but for the sake of the post, just go with me), the sunroom was a huge selling point. It is a nook in all its glory. Perfect for pondering, reading, and just being darling. So after I moved in, I wanted to make sure I did this room justice.
As a result, it stayed empty for a long time. I was scouting for just the right furniture and accents that would give it just the right vibe. But this weekend. I was able to call it good. Last Friday, I got the last, and biggest piece of the sunroom puzzle...the settee.
I have been pondering this piece of furniture for a long time. This particular one I got at Target. Yes, THAT Target! This is when it pays to take your time and shop around. I have found this exact settee (don't you just love that word, "settee") on several sites, including Urban Outfitters, for hundreds of dollars more. So yes, Target has won me over once again. Oh, you!
And I assembled it, all by myself. Yeah, that's right. Who needs a man? (BTW, if any of you know a dude that can hang a mirror for me, just give me a holler.)
What I really like about this room are the details. Like my wall collage (maybe I will detail that in another post), the rug I got from Anthropologie, the suitcase with vintage travel labels on it, and the birdcage I found at a consignment store. And if you are ever stumped on what to put in an old birdcage, try a complete set of Jane Austen novels and some favorite tea cups. Just a suggestion.
