Thanks, Uncle Sam!

Dear Uncle Sam,

Thanks for that tax refund. I was able to put it to excellent use. (See attached picture.)

Now I'm off to stimulate the economy (read: buy fabric).

God Bless America.
Kara

PS - It is totally a Project Runway Limited Edition sewing machine. I promise I didn't buy it out of a deep, dark need to do Tim Gunn impersonations while sewing ("Make it work, people", "Carry on"). Sewing genius Ann and Consumer Reports both gave me the thumbs up. So there.

Congratulations on the new addition to your crafting family. Are you going to take up painting next, or perhaps macrame? You're running out of crafts that you're not genius at!

I love my Brother sewing machine. Does yours also have the needle threader? That's my favorite part.

It's awesome. I hope you have fun with it and get along with it a lot better than I do my poor Viking.

I just found your blog today (thank you Google Reader Recommended Feeds), and I love it!! I think you and I will be great blog friends. I just did exactly the same thing you did, bought a sewing machine with my work bonus, tiny though it was! I am still a little frightened of it, though.... Your pictures are lovely, too. I give partial credit to the light in your GREAT apartment!!
