oh my gosh, I think it's time to purchase your first sewing machine. Remember to get one with an automatic button-hole maker, you'll thank me later. I can't wait to see the things you stitch up. :-)
This picture is one that was only in my dreams--until today! Kara reading a book on sewing? Kara sewing? ERIN sewing? Never even thought that was a possiblity...(Do not, I repeat, do not buy a sewing machine without consulting with me--please!)
Ok- you so need a sewing machine! You are too talented not to have one. And your home is so beautiful and eclectic from all your travels. I love it! I love your queen pillow and your bird house and all your furniture.
I think this is the book that Meghan just told me he wanted...made me feel good to know that I'd heard of it! Don't you have a birthday coming up...I'd ask for a sewing machine...hint, hint Di and Don!
Would this be the one and only Kara Hallstrom?? Boy, do I have some fond memories of you!! Your mom just emailed me and gave me her blog site, which boggles the mind that she has one!! and what I'm seeing on your's is pretty dang cool. what are you doing with your splendid life? lynn

no--not weird, it means that you are excited enough to appreciate when you do get a sewing machine!

I have a rather comprehensive book about making cloth dolls and made one that never got past the faceless nudie stage.
A sewing book without a machine. Nope, not weird.
One sewing machine, no waiting! A 10 minute drive is all it would take . . . and borrowing rights, of course!
Oh what a great picture!
And no, it's not weird at all. But, seriously, you need a sewing machine!! Get yourself an early Easter present! Or a St. Patties' Day present!
Although I'm not sewing much these days, (arthritis) I thought I would pass this along to those of you who may need supplies.
I've bought from them before and I was always satisfied with their service:
