Kitchens deserve cute accessories too.

Well, I guess I took an unscheduled blog break. But I know you guys get it. It just happens, doesn't it? But I haven't been completely idle. I've been doing some craftiness here and there. Take my new kitchen accessory as proof.

It's a tea towel I embroidered using the Dutch-Russian pattern from Sublime Stitching. Don't you just love how folky-fab it is?

And of course I just had to embroider a little babushka on the back. Could you blame me?

(I know that Russian nesting dolls are not really called "Babushkas" but it is just a lot more fun to say than "Matryoshka.")

I always forget that I love a bit of embroidery. And it's so much cheaper than all my other crafty interests. So to keep the proverbial ball rolling, I already have the next embroidery project "on the hoop." (See, I've got the lexicon down and everything.) I'm doing a pillow with four "Babushkas" on it. I think it's going to be super adorbs. So keep posted.

very nice embroidery. I just bought a pack of plain face washers for $1 with the plan to embroider something on them. I just don't know what yet.

So cute! I've wanted to get into embroidery for a while, but I never seem to quite get there.... There's just too much to knit, I guess. Can't wait to see your other babushkas!

Very nice! I've had a hankering for embroidering tea towels, lately, too. And my husband has developed a habit of staining them.

You embroider too? That is one crafty gift I do not have. I've tried it some, but it has never looked as great as yours. Very darling.

Ok Kara, you finally did it. I have been resisting buying tangly floss since your first post, and I could resist no more. I got stuff tonight. I am going to go make pictures on cloth now. Aaaargh!!!!
