It's out. All is well.

It's official. I no longer have my thyroid and "Lumpty Dumpty" (the growth and I were so close I had no choice but to name it). My surgery was yesterday and it went very well. I am tired and sore, but happy that it's behind me.

Thank you all for your love, thoughts, and prayers. I am so very lucky.

I have been such a bad blog stalker! I'm sorry I missed your big announcement but am thrilled that I got to catch up on the day when surgery is done and recovery remains.

You are such a strong woman in both word, your knitting skills, family alliance, and spirit. I have complete faith that your body will fight this bit of recovery till you are once again stronger than ever.

In the meantime, I should let you in a little secret...nothing makes a young woman heal faster than watching an entire season of Gilmore Girls while knitting a divine scar scarf or a thyroid cancer neck cozy. I suggest this one: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/cowl-of-many-colors

Rest up and get well. I'm looking forward to your recovery posts.

(Kari Eskelson BTW) I'm glad to hear everything went well and you are home and resting. I love reading your blog, even though I don't really comment. You inspire me to learn how to sew and knit. Also, I am so jealous of your trip to the Middle East. My dream has been to go to Turkey one day. Anyway, I hope your recovery goes well.

I love the photo. I like that I can see the hint of a smile. Well that and the fact that I'm not sure whether to believe your surgery story or to assume that you've taken the plunge and are becoming a vampire. I'll be keeping an eye on you.

So glad you are on the other side of surgery, and are now cozy in your pjs at home. I hope you feel back to normal very soon. Spring is coming and so is biking season! :)

Happiest New Year to you and your family. Your niece is adorable in her elf hat.
