Rainbow Brite

Last week, I won a giveaway on the blog, Anyone can knit. Maryse had the coolest idea for the prize. She would gift a knitting pattern via Ravelry. Being the lucky winner, I decided on a cute new hat pattern, Ida's Kitchen. (Thanks Maryse!)

So slouchy

Rainbow Brite back

This hat is just fun. Is there really another word for it? I mean, just look at those chevron stripes.

For yarn, I dipped into Erin's colorful sport weight stash. (Apparently, I'm really good at stash busting other people's stashes.)

Here are the oh so colorful stats...

Pattern: Ida's Kitchen
Source: Through the Loops!
Ravelry link: Here
Yarn: Dalegarn Falk in various colors
Needle size: US 6 & 8 circulars
Made for: Moi
Date started: January 27, 2011
Date completed: January 28, 2011

Me in Rainbow Brite

I didn't realize until halfway through that my hat reminded me of my childhood friend, Rainbow Brite. But who couldn't use a little bit of rainbow in the middle of a long winter?

So cute! I am oh so conservative when it comes to my knitting. This really inspires me to try something with more than one color!

Wow, your hat looks incredible, especially the geometric shape seen at the top of it. Something like this would take my MANY weeks. You look terrific in it, enjoy it!

It's so cute! So so cute. And it was free, completely, since you "borrowed" Erin's yarn and you got the pattern for free!

Uh Kara-- could you possibly knit something hideous for a change so that my list of wants can take a break and catch up to my knitting schedule??

I mean seriously. Cutest hat I've seen in a long time (since the last one you knitted). I gotta do something with chevron stripes before I go mad....

Two days?! You are fast. I love the colors. So cheerful with all the gray outside. And it would be great for bike riding when we can get outside again. :)

I love it, particularly the way it comes together at the crown and the slouchy fit. But I am AMAZED you knit it in 2 days!
