Overheard at the tea room...

Today I had a lunch date with my Kindle at one of my favorite places in downtown Salt Lake City, The Beehive Tea Room.

There were two girls, about 5 years old, sitting at a nearby table coloring. I happened to overhear their conversation.

Girl #1: "I love you."
Girl #2: "I love you too."
Girl #1: "You're my best friend."
Girl #2: "You're mine too. Well, my second best friend."
Girl #1: "Second best friend?"
Girl #2: "Yeah, my first best friend is me, silly!"

Yeah, I kinda loved that.

Happy Thursday!

Awww! So cute! And I love that you hang with your kindle! I swore I wouldn't get one, but my mom bought me one last month for my birthday and I love it. Love, love, love it!

I feel the same sadness about not missing books so much. I majored in English in undergrad and grad and am now getting a MFA....I've spent my college life attached to books. I've always loved holding a good book. And how do I repay them? I drop them for a Kindle! Well, maybe not, but it sure is nice to get a book right away whenever I want!

Rachel,

Books? What are these book things of which you speak? I am obviously a Kindle convert.

The Kindle has made me a better reader. I read a lot more now that I can carry a library of books in my purse. How can that be anything but awesome?!

Would that we could all be our own best friend!

(Aha! Just saw your last post's title and realized that YOU are the reason I've had Soul II Soul on loop in my head the past few days!)

So sweet! And I am lovin' my kindle! Had the first generation one (recvd as a gift), and just decided to upgrade to the new ones, after giving them to two of my sons as gift, and seeing how light they were!

Wonderful!! Let's hope she remembers she is an awesome best friend years from now.

Awww how sweet. I think she would(Girl #2) be a great spokesperson when she's older (or even now). She could help young girls learn to love themselves as they are.

So sweet...little girls see the world so clearly! I do hope she feels the same way as she grows up.

I haven't gotten a kindle or nook yet, but maybe someday!

i want you to know that if you ever invited me to the Tea Room, I would make sure we had this exact conversation...just because it's so cute.

LOVE it. thanks for sharing.

Absolutely darling! I agree with Laurel, let's go to the tea room and see if we can duplicate the conversation!

A lunch date with a Kindle sounds awfully relaxing!

I'm really leaning towards getting a kindle. Everyone I've talked to is completely sold on it. I love your tea room pic, and that conversation you heard? So adorable.
