The Bicycle Girl

So yeah, I just went for it.

Bike Girl

Fill it in! Fill it ALL in!

I just figured that if it didn't work out, I could stitch another one. But you know, I like it. I think that before, her pants were this big empty space in the center of the embroidery. Filling in those red pants anchored it all. Plus red pants are so hot right now.

Pants

Once I finished the pants, there was little hope that the bicycle would remain untouched. But really, who wouldn't want a pink bike with a polka-dot chain case?

Polka-dot chain case

After the bike and the pants, the top half felt a little too outline-y, so the hair was next.

Hair and freckles

And that is that. I still might add a background of some sort at some point, but for now I'm happy with her as is. Now I just have to decide how to show her off. Maybe framed or on a pillow?

Again, thanks to Meghan Eplett for letting me use her fabbity fab design.

I think it looks great filled in! It adds nice texture. It's funny because I have been getting into embroidery and cross stitching recently too. I've got the stitch bug!

Adorable! I haven't embroidered in years, but now just might! Let's see: this would look sweet on a bag, in a frame, on a denim jacket, JUST ABOUT ANYWHERE! CONGRATS!

This is fabulous! You're really talented. And have gumption, to find the picture and just go for it. Thanks for sharing. It makes me smile. :)

That looks awesome! I definitely like the filled-in-ness (yes that is a word) better. I think you should frame her.

Bicycle, BICYCLE. Now I have the Queen song in my head, but that's not a bad thing. Your embroidery looks wonderful! I love the way it turned out. The bike is especially cool. A pillow would be a wonderful way to show her off! Or a tote bag, because then you could take her along on bike rides!!

You are so awesome. I would say pillow...I can't even imagine how cute that will be. You could sell the crap out of those (consider me customer #1).

super cute! I'm thinking a basket cover or a bag with a long strap or perhaps incorporated into a neck scarf.

You are so awesome.

I'd frame it. (I may just be saying that because I desperately need pictures for my new flat.)

I love the design even more now -- I think you can see everything so much more clearly. It definitely says pillow to me, but however you finish it, it will be lovely!
