Knit your own bicycle parking

Biking home I caught a glance of some bicycle parking that just SCREAMS, "Kara!"

Parking Betty

Looks like I have a kindred spirit out there who also has a great love for knitting and bicycles.

Wheel and yarn

Thank you, Yarn Bombers, for making my commute home in SLC a little more colorful.

I have been wanting to do this for a while, but am not sure how. Do you knit a square and then knit it ON TO the rack? This baffles me.
They are so super cool!

Elisa,

Seeing this makes me want to do it too! I imagine you would knit a long flat piece and then seam it up the back once you wrap it around the desired object.

Oh that's wonderful! And makes bikes a little bit cozier.

I've seen this in other areas of the country but never in So. Calif...I would be SO happy to see this in my town. You're lucky to have secret knitters who decorate the village.

Nobody is interested here - I've checked.

I love it! My whole family is knitters and we always talk about yarn bombing something. I love the bike rack! Also...are you on goodreads? I just joined and know you like to read and I bet you have some great books. If you are, hit me up for a friend add! I'm under Rachele Alpine. :)

Perfect for you!! I love it.

I hope you are enjoying some good biking. Chris and I went yesterday, and did a rail trail in RI. I hope to post some photos soon. It was great to be out again.

I noticed a very similar style of knit-covering on a Boulder bike-share kiosk over the weekend. Knitting love must be in the air! :O)
